Design and Construction
The semi traditional lines, long overhangs and fin keel provide the Northstar 38 with excellent sailing characteristics as well as stunning good looks. Solid fiberglass hull, recently painted and barrier coated. The deck is airex cored fiberglass with marine plywood core around fittings.
Layout and Accommodations
Large V-berth forward with storage shelves outboard and cabinet drawers port and starboard. Aft to Port is the fully enclosed head with marine toilet (holding tank available) hot and cold pressure water, shower, sink and storage space. Across to starboard is a large hanging locker. The main cabin consists to straight settees port and starboard, each converting to double berths. Storage shelves outboard on each side. A custom built, bulkhead mounted, dinette table flips down to seat 5 for dinner and reveals a wine rack. Aft to starboard is the L-shaped galley with a 2-burner gimbaled propane stove with oven (converted from alcohol), 110V refrigeration, hot and cold pressure water, plenty of storage space for food and cooking equipment. To port is the forward facing navigation table with storage under. Quarter berths port and starboard sleep and additional two people. The cabin is heated with a Force-10 propane heater. The cabin sole is teak and holly.
